The Breitling Wingwalkers are one of the most popular air display teams in Europe.
Now, for the first time, they’ve gone to Australia.
Having appeared at the recent Australian International Airshow at Avalon near Melbourne they’ve moved across to Sydney to do the natural thing – fly over Sydney Harbour.
Here’s a photo of one of the team’s Stearman biplanes flying over the famous landmark. The wingwalker is Sarah Tanner and the pilot is Martyn Carrington, the team’s Director of Flying.
The team has generated a lot of media attention during its time in Oz – not surprising, as wingwalking displays aren’t too common in Australia.
The team is a nice, friendly bunch of people, too. Back in 2010, shortly after the team’s association with Breitling began, I interviewed Sarah and Martyn when I visited the team’s home base in Gloucestershire. Here’s the piece which came from that day – Breitling Wingwalkers
I’m sure the team will be as busy as ever when they’re back in Europe for the summer display season. Till then follow them on Twitter – https://twitter.com/aerosuperbatics.
